GLOVERSVILLE State Police arrested a city man Wednesday who is accused of shooting and critically wounding a 55-year-old acquaintance during a rampage at his mother-in-law's home, and then lighting his own house on fire.
William Smith, 28, is suspected of breaking into 81 West Pine St. in Gloversville at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to confront his wife, who had fled Tuesday to her mother's house with the couple's two children, Gloversville police Lt. John Harzinski said.
