There's a tiny warning sign taped to a wall at Rock Beach Recording, a cozy studio in the beachfront community of White Rock, BC, a half-hour's drive from Vancouver. It reads: "This Is Where We Play Nudie Stairs."

The inconspicuous scrap of paper is at the top of a flight leading to a living room setting where Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard peacefully works on his laptop, fixing up lyrics to songs that will comprise the rock band's sophomore album, Famous Last Words.
