FED:Mawson celebration delayed by bad weather

ABOARD THE AURORA AUSTRALIS, Antarctica, Jan 13 AAP - Penguins and snow cricket have
kept expeditioners on the icebreaker Aurora Australis amused as they wait for a break
in the Antarctic weather so they can reach explorer Douglas Mawson's huts for a centenary
service.

Low cloud and snowfalls on Friday prevented helicopters from ferrying people from the
ship to the 100-year-old wooden huts at Cape Denison, a distance of about 20km across
fast ice in Commonwealth Bay.
