NSW: Police search for gun believed used in murders
SYDNEY, Aug 6 AAP - A search of a river today failed to find a handgun believed to have
been used to murder two footballers outside a Sydney hotel, police said.
Strikeforce Mask's Detective Inspector Glen Ross said police had spent the past week
searching parts of the Cooks River near Campsie in the city's south-west for the gun believed
linked to the shooting of Adam Wright and Michael Hurle at Five Dock in July last year.
Police had received information the weapon, a .22 calibre handgun, had been thrown into the
river, Insp Ross said.
Police divers planned a further search of the river, he said.
