Fed: Banana import analysis to face senate committee

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - A decision by Australia's quarantine watchdog to give the green
light to the importation of Filipino bananas is to face a senate committee inquiry.

Opposition primary industries spokesman Gavan O'Connor said today Labor had sought
the inquiry by the Senate's rural and regional affairs and transport committee.

It would look at the import risk analysis released by Biosecurity Australia last week
into Filipino bananas.
